Day four: Mr. Pipe, Simsonbay and the Philipsburg Jubilee Library

We made this morning a trip over the island. Visited Maho Bay, world famous on You tube and part of the Flying Dutchman Story. Reint made a picture while lying down on the beach as a plane was landing. And we found the house in Simsonbay, where Mr.Pipe, mr. José Dormoy lived. His family was out, but we spoke to the daughter of his former Winair employer, mr. Volker.

Enthusiast receival at Philipsburg Jubilee Library. Director Monique Alberts was happy with two copies of ‘Flying Dutchman and his Cub’, so everyone on St.Maarten can read the story now.

Tomorrow a presentation in the Childrens Ward of the St. Maarten hospital and in the evening an appearance in the tv show of Oral Gibbes, the man who initiated this trip.
Saturday again, another presentation in the Philipsburg Jubilee Library, Storytelling Hour again, at 11.00 am.

Quote of the day …

“Can I come along with you to Holland ?”
